An important aid to both amateur and professional athletes, Sports Massage can be used before and after events.  It is a great way to maintain good muscular health while in training for events including Ironman Competitions, half and full marathons, triathlons, etc.  Prior to any event, your therapist will use a variety of techniques including range of motion exercises and compressions to help your soft tissue prepare for the vigorous workout ahead of you.  After you’ve completed your event, the emphasis will be on “flushing” your system of lactic acid produced and will again incorporate range of motion movements.  Both pre- and post-event sessions are most beneficial within days of the event.
